Founded in 1998, Autoart is a Hong Kong–based brand under Gateway Autoart Ltd., with roots in a company originally tied to UT Models and Paul's Model Art (makers of Minichamps). While the firm is based in Hong Kong (and the owning company originated in the US), their models are manufactured in China.

Autoart has transitioned from traditional fully diecast models to composite bodies (a mix of ABS/plastic and diecast parts), which allow for sharper panel lines, more vibrant paint finishes, and lighter models overall.

The model lineup spans supercars (Lamborghini, Porsche, McLaren), race and endurance vehicles, vintage classics, and even niche or professional service cars—notably including TV/film replicas like the Mad Max Interceptor or the Gulf Porsche 917 from Le Mans. Widely produced in 1:18 scale, Autoart also offers models in 1:12, 1:43, and even 1:64.
