Red Line Models was a premium model car brand introduced by Minichamps' main industry competitor, Spark (Minimax), specifically created to produce high-end, licensed Ferrari replicas. Because Mattel held the strict, exclusive master toy license for Ferrari for many years, Spark established the Red Line brand name to release resin and die-cast Ferraris without conflicting with standard brand naming rules.
When Mattel's exclusive license structure shifted, the Red Line Models brand was phased out. Today, these models are no longer manufactured, making them highly sought-after, limited-edition collector's items on the secondary market.
The brand focused almost entirely on Ferrari, spanning Scuderia Formula 1 cars, Le Mans endurance racers, and modern road-going supercars. The scale 1/43 was the most common and popular format, offering extreme detail via resin bodies, photo-etched parts, and accurate Rosso Corsa paintwork.
