Matrix Scale Models (commonly referred to by collectors as "Matrix Diecast") is a premium Dutch brand renowned for creating highly detailed, limited-edition miniature vehicles. Despite the common industry use of the word "die-cast," Matrix actually specializes in high-quality resin replicas paired with photo-etched metal parts. This allows them to achieve an incredible level of sharp detail that traditional die-cast metal processes cannot easily replicate.

Matrix was founded in early 2013 by Jaap van Dijk and Mark Asbreuk. Both founders previously worked for prominent model companies Replicars and Neo Scale Models. The company is based in the Netherlands, while production is handled in China.

They fill a unique niche by manufacturing "unusual, not before made models", catering strictly to serious collectors and automotive aficionados rather than mass-market toy buyers. Instead of repeating standard sports cars, Matrix focuses heavily on one-off concepts, custom coachbuilt specials, and rare classics from historical design houses like Bertone, Pininfarina, Ghia, and Zagato. The policy is not to overfeed the market but bring limited editions. Most of the time this is a qty of 408 pieces or less.

Because of their low production numbers, they are not sold in standard toy stores. Enthusiasts typically buy or pre-order them through specialized international model networks like Matrix Scale Models Official, Diecast Legends, or local hobby shops.
