Collections Altaya

Altaya is a collectibles publisher—not an independent model factory—that specializes in producing die-cast models, kits, and various collectibles packaged with accompanying magazines. De Agostini started in 1901 by creating maps and documentation that traveled the world.

Founded in 1993 as Ediciones Altaya, it became part of the Planeta DeAgostini group in 1999. The company has released hundreds of series across multiple countries and languages. Altaya’s offerings span a vast range of categories: from vehicles (cars, tanks, planes) to lead figures, model kits, books, and more.

Altaya is known for its serialized collections—commonly sold at newsstands—where each issue includes a model (e.g., vehicles or figures) plus a magazine with background information. Many are produced in smaller scales like 1:43 and distributed in themed collections like GT Collection, F1 Collection, or regional editions.
