Bovensiepen is the new, ultra-exclusive automotive brand created by the eponymous family from Buchloe, Germany. The Bovensiepen family is globally renowned as the founders and long-time owners of Alpina.  In 2022 the BMW Group buys the ALPINA brand from the ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH + Co. KG. BMW ALPINA automobiles will continue to be developed and produced in BUCHLOE until the end of 2025.  The family run company will rebrand itself under the BOVENSIEPEN name, invest in the business related to classic automobiles and will continue to offer different, exciting new mobility solutions.
The ALPINA Burkard Bovensiepen GmbH + Co. KG and the BMW Group will continue to cooperate closely in the future, but in a new form and inter alia, with a focus on engineering and development services.

Operating under the motto "Fine Driving," the company builds hand-crafted, strictly limited-run vehicles from their facilities in Buchloe. These cars act as the spiritual successors to classic Alpina models: built on BMW platforms, but focusing intensely on craftsmanship, exclusivity, and grand-touring refinement.

When BMW acquired the rights to the Alpina brand, the physical production facilities in Buchloe remained entirely in the hands of the Bovensiepen family. As an authorized BMW Service Partner, the workshop continues to serve as the global hub for classic Alpina models manufactured up through 2025. They handle historic restoration, official engineering servicing, and manage the official inventory of original Alpina replacement parts.

Bovensiepen's automotive division focuses entirely on a bespoke, highly restricted build strategy. All vehicles released since their rebranding leverage highly specialized hardware partners like Akrapovič (titanium exhaust units) and Bilstein or Eibach for bespoke suspension setups.

This Gran Turismo is the first model under the Bovensiepen name. Almost the entire bodywork is made of carbon fiber as is the Zagato bubble roof.

Underneath the car is a BMW M4, but it has of course been taken care of according to good Alpina custom. More than 600 hp is squeezed out by the six-in-line and the 0-100 sprint should be done in 3.3 seconds. The top speed is 300 km/h. According to the Bovensiepens, the production of one specimen takes 250 hours. So that will be a really exorbitant price tag. The advantage is that given Alpina's more than half a century of experience, you know that the refinement and driving characteristics will be fine.

2026-now

This is the Bovensiepen 5 GT, a mighty station wagon that with a little imagination you can think of as an Alpina B5 before Alpina makes it.

Like the M5 Touring, the Bovensiepen 5 GT has a plug-in hybrid powertrain with a biturbo 4.4 V8. In the Bovensiepen 5 GT, that plug-in hybrid hardware does not produce 727 hp, but 801 hp. This allows the 5 GT to launch itself from standstill to a speed of 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. Its top speed: 305 km/h. However, Bovensiepen's plug-in hybrid blasting station with a car weight of 2,555 kilos is about 5 kilos heavier than an M5 Touring.

Where the M5 Touring shouts the fact that it is very strong from the rooftops, the Bovensiepen 5 GT comes across as considerably more subdued. It may have different bumper work all around than a regular 5-series, but it is not peppered with the gigantic cooling vents and holes that the M5 has.

The Bovensiepen 5 GT has an interior that is upholstered in Lavalina leather down to the smallest nooks and crannies and can be extensively configured to taste. Its European starting price: almost €200,000.

The Bovensiepen Spider is an exclusive, hand-built two-seater roadster unveiled in September 2026. Developed by the Bovensiepen family—the founders of the legendary Alpina brand, which has since been integrated into the BMW Group—this car serves as a spiritual successor to classic Alpina roadsters under the family's own name.

The project breathes an exclusive 'second life' into the BMW Z4 (G29) platform, following the end of the standard Z4's production in May 2026. Production is strictly limited to just 99 units worldwide.

Under the hood sits BMW's renowned 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six (B58 engine), significantly optimized by Bovensiepen with improved intake and exhaust systems. The engine now produces 435 hp and 580 Nm of torque (+95 hp compared to the factory Z4 M40i). It is mated to an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission, sending power exclusively to the rear wheels. 0-100 km/h takes 4.2 seconds and the top speed is electronically limited to 260 km/u.

The exterior was styled in collaboration with legendary automotive designer Frank Stephenson. Key visual changes include a more aggressive front splitter, new side fender vents, a continuous rear spoiler, and signature 20-inch forged wheels.
