Nissan – the company was earlier known by the name Nippon Sangyo which means "Japan Industries."

Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. usually shortened to Nissan, is a Japanese multinational automobile manufacturer headquartered in Nishi-ku, Yokohama.  Masujiro Hashimoto founded the Kaishinsha Motor Car Works  1 July 1911; 107 years ago in Tokyo's Azabu-Hiroo district, Japan's first automobile manufacturer.

Headquarters Yokohama, Japan

The Prince Motor Company  was an automobile marque from Japan which eventually merged into Nissan in 1966. It began as the Tachikawa Aircraft Company, a manufacturer of various airplanes for the Japanese Army in World War II, e.g., the Ki-36, Ki-55 and Ki-74. Tachikawa Aircraft Company was dissolved after the war and the company took the name Fuji Precision Industries. It diversified into automobiles, producing an electric car, the Tama.

The company changed its name to Prince in 1952 to honor Akihito's formal investiture as Crown Prince of the nation. In 1954 they changed their name back to Fuji Precision Industries, and in 1961 changed the name back again to Prince Motor Company. In 1966, they became part of Nissan, while the Prince organization remained in existence inside Nissan, as Nissan Prince Store in Japan until Nissan consolidated the Prince dealership network into "Nissan Blue Stage" in 1999.

skyline coupe blra-3  1957-1964

The S21 Deluxe-based Skyline Sport featured hand-built Michelotti bodies in stylish coupe and convertible versions. These cars used the 1.9 L GB-4 engine from the S21D. While only a few hundred were built, Prince Motors had a very aggressive product placement group and they can be seen (along the company's mainstream models) in many Toho films of the early 1960s. The canted headlights reflected a similar appearance on the late 1950s through early 1960s Lincoln Continental, Buick, and Chrysler 300. The appearance is similar to the 1960s Lancia Flavia and Triumph Vitesse as Michelotti did contribute to Lancia vehicles during this time; Giugiaro's design of the short-lived Gordon Keeble GT was similarly influenced. Being the first sports-focused model, the Skyline Sport foreshadowed the Skyline GT-R sub-range.

skyline

The Nissan Skyline  is a brand of automobile originally produced by the Prince Motor Company starting in 1957, and then by Nissan after the two companies merged in 1967. The Skyline was largely designed and engineered by Shinichiro Sakurai .

Skylines are available in either coupé, or sedan body styles, plus station wagoncrossoverconvertible and pickup/sedan delivery body styles. The later models are most commonly known by their trademark round brake and tail lights. The majority of Skyline models are rear-wheel drive, with all-wheel drive being available since the debut of the eighth-generation Skyline (R32).

skyline c10 1968-1972

The C10 series of August 1968, which began its development under Prince at the company's Ogikubo R&D centre in the suburbs of Tokyo, was marketed with a Nissan badge. By the time the C10 went on sale, the Prince nameplate had been completely phased out on cars and trucks.

The C10 Skyline was launched with Prince's 1.5 L OHC G15 I4 like the S57. A 1.8 L G18 version was also available. A station wagon variant, known previously as the Prince Skyway, was offered with this generation. A hardtop coupé was introduced in October 1970. The Skyline chassis and suspension was now shared with the all-new, luxury-oriented, and longer wheelbase Laurel and was unique to the Nissan Store as a junior companion to the executive limousine Nissan President.

Production 1968–1972: 310.447 units sold.

2000 gtx C110  1972-1977

The C110 generation was produced from September 1972 through August 1977. For export in the 1970s, the C110 and GC110 Skyline was sold as the Datsun K-series, with models such as the Datsun 160K, 180K and Datsun 240K.

The body styles were, once again, four-door sedan, two-door hardtop coupé, and five-door station wagon. The C110 was more fussy in its styling than its predecessor, particularly so in wagon form, where unusually for a wagon design, no windows were fitted between the C and D pillars.[citation needed] Its appearance seems to be influenced by the 1970–1975 Citroën SM.[citation needed] The C110 was the first version to return to the round rear tail and brake lights introduced in 1963 albeit with dual units from the previous generation, and the appearance has become a traditional Skyline feature. The styling also influenced a smaller, more affordable two-door coupe, called the Silvia, introduced in 1975. Nissan introduced its emission control technology, primarily consisting of fuel injection on trim packages ending with an "E", using the moniker Nissan NAPS also in 1975. In February 1976, the model was facelifted and became C111 model.

GT-R KPGC110 GT-R  1972-1973

The Skyline GT-R hardtop arrived in September 1972 but only lasted until March 1973, when Nissan ceased its production. The oil crisis saw many people preferring economy cars and high-performance sports cars were looked down upon. Nissan pulled out of Motor Racing, so there was no purpose to the GT-R. It was not officially exported anywhere, although Nissan contemplated exporting to Australia. Only 197 KPGC110 GT-Rs were ever sold in Japan, through specialist Nissan Performance shops (before it was called NISMO). This was the last GT-R for 16 years until the BNR32 in 1989.

gt-r r32 1989-1994

After discontinuing the Skyline GT-R in 1973, Nissan revived the GT-R nameplate again in 1989. At the time Nissan was competing in Group A Racing with the Skyline GTS-R. Nissan wanted to retire the GTS-R in favor of a more competitive vehicle. The new generation of the GT-R, E-BNR32 chassis (commonly shortened to R32), was designed to dominate Group A class racing.

The new 2.568cc R32 developed 276 hp at 6800 rpm and 353 N⋅m of torque at 4400 rpm, it had a curb weight of 1430 kg.

To celebrate the success of the GT-R in both Group N and Group A racing, Nissan introduced the Skyline GT-R V·Spec ("Victory SPECification") package in 1993. The V·Spec added Brembo brakes and a retuned ATTESA E-TS system. The V·Spec was available in both 'plain' and 'N1' variants, with all V·Spec cars using the lightweight aluminium bonnet and front bumpers from the 'Nismo'. The cars also replaced the standard 16-inch wheels with 17-inch BBS wheels with 225/45R17 tyres.

Production of the R32 Skyline GT-R ceased in November 1994 after a production run of 43.937 units.

gt-r r33 1995-1998

The E-BCNR33 (R33) was developed even as the non GT-R R33 models went on sale in August 1993 (with a prototype being shown at the 1993 Tokyo Motor Show) for release in 1995 as a successor to the R32 model.

The engine in the R33 was nearly identical to the R32. It used the same turbochargers and the same specification for the manual gearbox, although the syncros were stronger. The engine corrected the R32's weak oil pump drive collar, which tended to fail in higher power applications, by using a wider collar (also fixed in spec 2 R32's prior to R33 release).

The twin turbo inline-6 had ”276″ horsepower. Japanese gentlemen’s agreement aside, the car puts out over 300 horses. The redline of 8000 RPM! was rare on a turbo motor.

The base model of the R33 GT-R weighs 1540 kg.

The V·Spec model weighed in 10 kg heavier, and had sportier suspension resulting in lower ground clearance. The V·Spec also featured the newer ATTESA E-TS Pro all wheel drive system, which included an Active Limited Slip differential.

The R33 ended production on 9 November 1998. The last R33 GT-R produced was a V-Spec in GV1 finished in Black Pearl colour.

gt-r r34 1999-2002

The GF-BNR34 (R34) Skyline GT-R, GT-R V·Spec and GT-R V·Spec N1 models were introduced in January 1999. The R34 GT-R was shorter (from front to rear), and the front overhang was reduced as compared to its predecessor. The valve covers were painted glossy red (colour code Cherry Red Effect Z24 or X1020), as opposed to black in previous models.

The GT-R of the 1990s included a 2.6 L straight six-cylinder twin-turbo engine producing 280 PS. The standard turbochargers were of a hybrid steel/ceramic design allowing them to spool up faster due to the light nature of the ceramic exhaust wheel.

Like the R33, the new R34 GT-R V·Spec (Victory Specification) models come equipped with the ATTESA E-TS Pro system and an Active LSD at the rear, while standard GT-R models come with the non-Pro system and a conventional mechanical differential. The V·Spec model also had firmer suspension and lower ground clearance, thanks to front and side splitters, as well as a rear carbon fibre air diffuser, designed to keep air flowing smoothly under the car.

In February 2002, Nissan launched a final production model of the R34 GT-R called the Skyline GT-R V·Spec II Nür and the Skyline GT-R M·Spec Nür, which were based on the V-Spec II N1. The Nür was named after the famous German Nürburgring racetrack, where the Skyline was developed.

In total 11.578 were produced.

Following the end of R34 production in 2002, Nissan announced they would separate the GT-R model from the Skyline name, creating an entirely new vehicle—though based on the same platform as the Skyline. This new car, now known simply as the Nissan GT-R, debuted in 2007 in Tokyo.

president

The Nissan President  is a Japanese luxury sedan that manufactured and marketed by Nissan from 1965 until 2010 as a JDM luxury sedan, the flagship of Nissan's range. Exports began to a few countries including Singapore and Hong Kong, though sales were limited. When the President was introduced in 1965, it was marketed under the "Nissan" badge, unlike other Nissan products at the time, which were marketed under the Datsun brand.

h250 1973-1990

The President was introduced in October 1965, replacing the Cedric Special as Nissan's top-of-the-range model, and was exclusive to Japanese Nissan dealerships called Nissan Motor Store. Ownership costs of the President were expensive due to its external dimensions and engine displacement placing it in the top road tax bracket, and Japanese Government dimension regulations. The President appeared after the Toyota Crown Eight debuted in 1963, and was developed by Nissan as a possible submission for a limousine to be used by the Imperial Household Agency of Japan.

The President was available with either the 4.0-litre Y40 V8 engine, developed specially for that model, or the 3.0-litre H30 straight-six. Very lavishly appointed for its time, the President served as the official car of the Japanese Prime Minister Eisaku Satō, while the Emperor of Japan was transported in one of four Nissan Prince Royals developed by Prince Motor Company.

The second generation, H250, was introduced in 1973. It received a complete upgrade inside and out, while the chassis was essentially the same. This generation President showed some visuals similairities with the Australian Holden Statesman of the same period. The Y40 engine was replaced by the new Y44, which received electronic fuel injection in 1975, becoming the Y44E. The H30 six-cylinder remained available until 1974. In 1975, all trim levels except the Spec-D were dropped, which meant the H30 engine and manual transmission were dropped as well; all Presidents would have V8 engines and automatic transmissions going forward. The Sovereign trim was added in 1977 and the Spec-C trim level returned in 1978.

In 1982 the President was updated with suspension improvements, a larger fuel tank, a new instrument cluster, and the replacement of the round headlights with square halogen versions while maintaining the exterior and interior appearance. In 1985 the Sovereign VIP trim was added. Production of the 250 series continued until 1990.

hg50 1990-2002

In October 1989 the third-generation President, designated JHG50, debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show, with sales beginning a year later. Concurrently, a short-wheelbase version of the chassis debuted in the United States as Infiniti Q45 or Nissan Infiniti Q45 in Japan, with a different front and rear end — in response to the Lexus LS January 1989 and the Honda Legend in 1985. Renewed emphasis sought to position the President as a top-level luxury limousine, with high levels of standard equipment, including Connolly Leather or wool and silk upholstery. This time the vehicle adopted many European styling cues, with its front now resembling the contemporary Jaguar XJ

Both the President and the Q45 shared the new 4.5-litre VH45DE V8 engine.

The PHG50 continued in production until 2002 with the arrival of the new F50 chassis.

The Nissan Z-series is a model series of sports cars manufactured by Nissan in seven generations since 1969. The Fairlady Z, and in other markets as the Datsun 240Z, then later as the 260Z and 280Z, is the first generation of Z GT 3-door two-seat coupés, produced by Nissan Motors, Ltd. of Japan. Nissan was aiming to compete directly with established European sports cars. The seventh-generation of the Z-car was introduced in August, 2021.

260z S30  1974-1978

The Nissan Z-car is a sports car which has been manufactured by Nissan Motors Ltd, in six generations, since 1969. The original Z was sold from 1969 in Japan, as the Nissan Fairlady Z, and it was exported as the Datsun 240Z.

The 240Z was released in America on October 22, 1969. It sold over 45,000 units through the '71 model year and over 50,000 and 40,000 in 1972 and 1973, respectively.

The 260Z was released in 1974; it featured an increased engine displacement of 2.6 L and an available 2+2 model with a slightly longer wheelbase. The 280Z was released in 1975 in North America (not to be confused with the 280ZX, which is a second-generation Z-car) and featured another engine displacement enlargement to 2.8 L.

280zx s130/z30 1979-1983

Known as the Datsun/Nissan 280ZX in export markets, the car continued to use the "Fairlady" moniker in the Japanese domestic market where 2-litre inline-six engines were also available and were first introduced in 1978. That same year, main rival Toyota introduced the Supra as its answer to the new Fairlady, although it also continued to produce the Celica that it was based on.

The only thing left unchanged from the previous generation was the 5-speed manual transmission and 2.8-liter L28 inline-6 engine, while the entire car overall was made more luxurious to meet growing consumer demands. Major changes for this new generation of Z-cars include t-tops, introduced in 1980, and a turbocharged model introduced in 1981, complementing the naturally aspirated (NA) 2-seater and NA 2+2 models.

Coupled with either a 3-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission, the turbocharged model was capable of 180 bh and 275 N⋅m of torque, over the 135 bhp and 195 N⋅m of the NA engine.

Notable models include the 10th Anniversary Edition, featuring gold emblems, gold alloy wheels, and two-toned paint in either gold/red and black, with luxury features such as leather seats, headlamp washers, and automatic climate control.

The 280ZX was wildly popular, being hailed as Motor Trend's Import Car of the Year for 1979 and going on to set a Z-car sales record of 86,007 units in its first year. While on the one hand, it received praise for taking the Z-car to further levels of comfort and performance, many enthusiasts also lamented the further emphasis on luxury over driving fun. This would continue with the third generation of the Z-car, with a clean-sheet redesign.

300zx z31 1983-1989

The Z-car was completely redesigned in 1984 and introduced Nissan's new series of 3.0-liter V6 engine, dubbed the VG series. The same engine was used in the electromotive (later to become NPTI) GTP ZX-Turbo that dominated the IMSA GTP races in 1988 and 1989. These were available in both VG30E naturally aspirated and VG30ET turbocharged forms producing 160 and 200 bhp respectively, although some VG30ET powered Z-cars exported outside of the U.S. produced 228 bhp due to a longer cam duration and fewer emission restrictions. These were showcased in sleek new wedge-shaped styling and given a new name, the 300ZX. Like its predecessor, it proved to be wildly popular and was the second best-selling Z-car in history selling over 70.000 units due in part not only to its new styling but also to even more added luxury features and high performance. When the 300ZX Turbo was released in Japan, it offered the highest HP available in a Japanese standard production car at the time.

Much like the 280ZX that preceded it, the first gen 300ZX was thought by enthusiasts as more GT than a true sports car. It had improved handling, acceleration, and refinement than any previous model Z-car.

300zx z32 1989-2000

The only thing unchanged from the previous generation 300ZX is the 3.0-liter V6 engine, now with dual overhead camshafts (DOHC), variable valve timing (VVT) and producing a rated 222 hp and 268 N⋅m naturally aspirated. The turbo variant was upgraded with twin Garrett turbochargers and dual intercoolers. This produced 300 hp with 384 N⋅m of torque. 0-100 times of 5.0-6.0 seconds were reported, and it had a governed top speed of 249 km/h.

Upon its release, the 300ZX won Motor Trend's "Import Car of the Year" in 1990 as well as "One of the Top Ten Performance Cars". Automobile Magazine honored the 300ZX/300ZX Turbo as its "Design of the Year" and added it to their "All Stars" list. Road & Track named the 300ZX Turbo "One of the Ten Best Cars in the World", and Car and Driver added it to their 10Best for the seven years in which it was in production in America. American Z-car sales reached 1 million in 1990.

Like previous generations, Nissan offered a 2+2 model with the Z32. In 1993, a convertible version was introduced in the Z-car's history, as a response to aftermarket conversions. All 300ZXs now featured T-tops as standard, yet there were some rare hardtops (known as "slick tops") produced as well.

350z z33 2003-2007

The Nissan 350Z (known as Nissan Fairlady Z (Z33) in Japan) is a two-door, two-seater sports car that was manufactured by Nissan Motor Corporation from 2002 until 2009 and marks the fifth generation of Nissan's Z-car line. The 350Z entered production in 2002 and was sold and marketed as a 2003 model from August 2002. The first year there was only a coupe, as the roadster did not debut until the following year. Initially, the coupe came in Base, Enthusiast, Performance, Touring and Track versions, while the Roadster was limited to Enthusiast and Touring trim levels. The Track trim came with lightweight wheels and Brembo brakes, but its suspension tuning was the same as all other coupes. The Nissan 350Z was succeeded by the 370Z for the 2009 model year.

For the 2007 model year, the 350Z was again moderately revised. The VQ35DE V6 was replaced with a new VQ35HR V6. It produced 306 bh at 6800 rpm with 363 N⋅m of torque at 4800 rpm using the revised SAE certified power benchmark.

The VQ35HR had a raised redline to 7500 rpm and more torque across the rpm range. The hood was redesigned with a bulge reminiscent of the original 240Z to accommodate the raised deck height of the new VQ35HR.

gloria 2000 gle mkV 330  1975-1979

The Gloria is a large luxury car made from 1959 by the Prince Motor Company, and later by Nissan Motors since its merger with the former - hence being originally marketed as Prince Gloria and later as Nissan Gloria. Initially based on the smaller Prince Skyline, the Gloria line was merged with Nissan Cedric starting with 1971 models and both continued until 2004.

This 5th generation of the Gloria has been completely shared with the Cedric, essentially being the same vehicle, aside from changes in appearance.

cedric deluxe van Y30  1983-1987

The Nissan Cedric  is a large automobile produced since 1960. It was developed to provide upscale transportation, competing with the Prince Skyline and Gloria which were later merged into the Nissan family.

In 1985 Honda introduced its rival to Cedric called Legend, which influence the Japanese car makers that time to update their luxury car line up.

The Y30 was sold from 1984 through 1987. It used the 3.0 L VG30E V6 for the 300C private cars.

patrol/safari  mkV Y61  1997-2016

The Nissan Patrol  is a series of four-wheel drive vehicles  sold throughout the world. The Patrol has been available as either a short-wheelbase (SWB) three-door or a long-wheelbase (LWB) five-door chassis since 1951.

Between 1988 and 1994, Ford Australia marketed the Patrol as the Ford Maverick. In some European countries, such as Spain, the Patrol was marketed by Ebro as the Ebro Patrol. In 1980 in Japan it was rebadged and alternately sold at Nissan Prince Store locations as the Nissan Safari.

pathfinder mkIII R51  2004-2014

The new R51 Pathfinder uses the Nissan F-Alpha platform, and is powered by a 4.0 L V6 engine VQ40DE (270 hp) or a 2.5 L YD25DDTi (174 hp) Turbo Diesel. Until 2005, most Pathfinders were built in Japan, but the new Pathfinder is built in the USA at Smyrna, Tennessee and in Spain, near Barcelona. The American plant produces left-hand-drive, auto-only petrol vehicles for their own market, and rest-of-world output comes from Spain. In late 2003, a full-size SUV, the Pathfinder Armada, debuted. Although they share a common name, they have little similarity and use different platforms.

GT-R R35  2007-2022

The Nissan GT-R is a high-performance sports car and grand tourer, unveiled in 2007. It is the successor to the Skyline GT-R, a high performance variant of the Nissan Skyline. Although the car is the sixth-generation model to bear the GT-R name, the model is no longer part of the Nissan Skyline model lineup since that name is now reserved for Nissan's luxury-sport vehicles.

The engines are hand built by only four specially trained mechanics called "Takumi Craftsmens" on a special line at Nissan's Yokohama plant and their names are badged on every GT-R engine. The  GT-R is powered by a V6 3,799cc engine. Models manufactured between 2007 and 2009 are rated at a manufacturer-claimed engine output of 487 PS.

elgrand mkIII E52  2010-present

The Nissan Elgrand  is a minivan manufactured by Nissan Shatai for Nissan since 1997, available in three model developments.

The Elgrand is commonly used by celebrities in Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand and some other countries/regions around the world.

The Elgrand's main competitors are the Toyota Alphard and the Honda Odyssey, and is sold as a larger, more luxurious alternative to the Nissan Lafesta.

This third generation E52 Elgrand ditched the previous generations' rear-wheel drive layout.

navara mkIII D23  2014-present

The Nissan Navara is the name for several generations of Nissan pickup trucks sold in Asia, Europe, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Elsewhere  it is sold as the Nissan Frontier or Nissan NP300. The Navara gets its name from the Navarre region of northern Spain.

On 11 June 2014, Nissan unveiled the third generation Navara, codenamed the D23. After the release of the D23, which is only available with 4-cylinder engines, the D40 remained on production only with the V6 and automatic transmission.

The Mercedes X-Class is based on the platform of the D23 Navara and is built in Barcelona, Spain. It was discontinued in 2020 due to poor sales.
